Planning Of Trailer
Before we film the actual trailer we need to plan certain aspects of it. For example who is going to star in the trailer, what kind of narratives are going to be included in the storyline and what kind of shots we are going to use. By analysing the Waterloo Road trailer we can see what kind of shots are used in similar based dramas, this will make our trailer look more professional and give more authenticity to the film as if it were actually appearing on the television as a BBC series. First we had to get the cast together which can be seen from the image posted above. We then had to decide on a location in which we thought was suitable for our trailer, so because it was based around a similar product to Waterloo Road, we decided to do it around our own college, Aquinas. We then took pictures around our college to see where potential scenes could be based, these pictures can also be seen in a blog posted above. After that we had to decide on what narratives were going to be included in the storyline, to keep our audience interested we had to do quite dramatic storylines those that were similar to the storylines included in Waterloo Road. We came up with a few ideas, a gay scene between two college students, a detention scene in which a student bust-up is involved, a conflict narrrative between a teacher and a pupil and finally a lone pupil narrative. A drug scene was also included in the trailer to shock the audience as they might not expect such events to happen in an ordinary college. After planning all of this we had to find suitable props to use, i.e. bags and attire and also we had to find suitable costume.
